The Micro Bernedoodle is our smallest take on the Bernedoodle, bred for families who want that same loving Bernedoodle spirit in an especially compact package. Rather than crossing directly from a Bernese Mountain Dog, our Micro lines come primarily from Poodle and Mini Bernedoodle pairings, allowing us to bring the size down while still preserving the intelligence, affection, and playful nature Bernedoodles are known for. Their low-shed coats make them a wonderful option for allergy-sensitive households, while their eager-to-please nature makes training a genuinely enjoyable experience.

It’s a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Toy Poodle, often bred across multiple generations to achieve the tiny size. A Micro Bernedoodle is even smaller than a “Mini,” typically weighing between 10 and 20 pounds.
Their lifespan is quite long, usually 14 to 18 years.One of the best perks of shrinking the breed is the lifespan. While a purebred Bernese may only live 7–9 years, a Micro Bernedoodle can live much longer, largely because the smaller heart and joints of the Poodle lineage are less prone to “giant breed” issues.
They have “bursts” of energy followed by long naps. While they love a good 20-minute game of fetch, they don’t require the miles of walking that a larger dog does, making them perfect for owners who prefer a more relaxed lifestyle.
While no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic, Micros are as close as it gets. Because they are mostly Poodle (genetically speaking), they produce very little dander. If you have severe allergies, look for an F1b generation, which is 75% Poodle.
Since they don’t shed, the dead hair can get trapped in the coat. If not brushed daily, this hair creates “mats” which act like tight knots against the skin. We recommend a professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks.
Don’t let the “toy” look fool you; these dogs are highly intelligent. The Poodle is consistently ranked as the second smartest dog breed in the world. They are incredibly bright. They inherit the “problem-solving” skills of the Poodle and the “emotional intelligence” of the Bernese. They can learn tricks in just a few repetitions, but they can also use that brainpower to figure out how to open cabinets or find hidden treats!
