A Munchkin Bernedoodle is a unique variety developed by introducing Cavalier King Charles Spaniel genetics into Bernedoodle lines. This combination helps create the signature shorter-legged, compact build of our Munchkins while maintaining many of the qualities people love about Bernedoodles—including their affectionate personalities, intelligence, and beautiful coats.
Their shorter legs come from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel genetics introduced into the Bernedoodle line. Through carefully planned pairings, we aim for a proportionate, sturdy little dog with the recognizable Bernedoodle look in a shorter, more compact package.
Our Munchkin Bernedoodles generally range from about 10 to 30 pounds at maturity. We divide them into three size ranges: Petite Munchkins at 10–18 pounds, Mini Munchkins at 15–24 pounds, and Ultra Munchkins at 20–30 pounds. Because every puppy develops differently, adult weights are estimates rather than guarantees.
Our Petite Munchkin Bernedoodles are our smallest size, typically reaching approximately 10–18 pounds as adults. Their small stature makes them an appealing choice for families wanting the personality and look of a Bernedoodle in a much more compact dog.
Munchkin Bernedoodles can have low-shedding coats, especially when they inherit strong furnishings and a more Poodle-influenced coat. However, no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic, so we prefer to describe them as potentially allergy-friendly or low-shedding rather than guarantee that they are hypoallergenic.
Yes! Their affectionate temperament, manageable size and love of companionship can make Munchkin Bernedoodles wonderful family dogs. We also begin handling and socializing our puppies from an early age to help prepare them for life with their new families.
